Fans all things Lovecraftian will dig this (dat’s me). Lovecraft: Fear of the Unknown is a 2008 documentary about one of the most influential horror writers of all time detailing how H.P. Lovecraft evolved his imagination and mythos. Ia! Ia! Cthulhu F’taghn! {D}
TOOL is an iconic band and their guitarist Adam Jones’ creepy and arty videos helped the band to distinguish itself from the typically cliché, glitzy and ego-centric videos common to most bands. Of course the imagery is creepy and unique unto itself, but Adam Jones has horror film cred too, as LOUDWIRE shares with us (plus a few of the great vids).
I for one remember walking past my television when the original song Sober came on… the music grabbed me and as I turned to watch the weird video I instantly became a huge TOOL fan and remain to this day. {D}

To that list I’d add Aliens: Colonial Marines, because it looks like a proper “terror-filled” action game and Gearbox is obsessed with making it true to the Alien(s) universe. Lots of titles look promising for the horror+gamer junkie in most of us. {D}
Happy new year horrorphiles! Belated I know, but I’ve been down for the count the last two days with a mix of cold and partying (bleh). However, over the previous couple of holiday weeks I’ve been slagging my way through the wilds of Pandora with some friends in Borderlands 2. Great game with some fun, wrong characters. One of my favs is Tiny Tina. She’s an acquired taste, so acquire it beeoches! Definitely inspired by Edward from Cowboy Bebop, but with a psycho hip-hip brainfart added. {D}
Metal might get the majority of “horror” imagery, but Kate Bush is one of those great eclectic artists who has often been influenced by horror, Hammer Films horror to be exact, for inspiration in her music and videos. Classic Horror Campaign has a nice overview of her influences. I know… who’d have thunk.
She’s an acquired taste to be sure, but I’ve been a fan since the late 80’s. {D}
